Metro Passes
Metro provides safe, reliable transportation services throughout the entire metropolitan area, thus accommodating the geographical diversity of SLUH's student body. As part of a pilot program in collaboration with Metro, SLUH is providing a semester pass exclusively for its students at a significantly reduced rate of $125.00. This is a savings of about 50 percent!
Metro student passes are available for purchase in the SLUH bookstore. Spring semester passes are valid January 3 - May 20, 2008. Student photo IDs are required with the semester pass, which provides unlimited 24/7 usage for each semester.
Convenient Commuting
For the convenience of student commuters arriving at the Central West End station (Bus/ MetroLink) in the morning, Metro offers a bus shuttle to school every 20 minutes, ensuring students arrive on time for homeroom on a regular schedule. Metro also offers a bus shuttle from SLUH to the Central West End station every 15 minutes after school.
While the new I-64 construction project will particularly impact students from the west, Metro offers bus lines to fulfill their travel needs. The 57 Manchester and 59 Shaw-Kirkwood lines, which originate at Manchester/Barrett Station Road and Lindbergh/Rott, respectively, provide service to SLUH every half-hour in the morning. Both lines also provide westbound service every half-hour in the afternoon.
In addition, beginning December 31, 2007, the 157X West County Express will provide additional opportunities for travel both in the morning and afternoon, directly to and from SLUH. Students can pick up this line as far west as the Chesterfield Mall and Woods Mill, and as near as the Maplewood/Manchester MetroLink Station and St. Mary's Hospital for drop-off at SLUH.
