Role and Requirements
Role
The role of the St. Louis University High School Alumni Board is involvement in programs and activities to advance the school’s reputation, to assist in securing financial resources which support the mission of the school, and to provide spiritual and community service opportunities for alumni.
Member Profile
Membership on the Board should be a privilege and a reward for work undertaken on behalf of SLUH. The Board member should have demonstrated leadership among his peers and committed his time in some volunteer effort on behalf of the school.
General Information
The board meets four times per year, and members are asked to attend at least half of the meetings. Meetings are typically held in late August, early December (mass and brunch meeting), mid-February and mid-May.
Alumni Board members are expected to lead and organize their class phonathon each fall. Other volunteer and service opportunities are available for Alumni Board members, including service at St. Matthew’s parish (the Jesuit-staffed parish in North St. Louis) and Loyola Academy (the Jesuit-sponsored middle school for boys in grades 6-8 located in mid-town St. Louis).
