2007 Varsity Swimming
Marquette Relays
If you weren't near a calendar, you might have thought the 2007 Marquette Relays were cancelled and a replay of the 2006 edition was shown instead. In the case of the Jr. Bills, this wasn't a bad thing. Just like their 2006 counterparts, the '07 version of the swim/dive team put the state on notice that they are a contender for the state title in the annual relay-only event.
Last season, the team narrowly won the diving competition; had fantastic swims; and came away with a tie for First Place, despite having no event wins. This year was almost a carbon copy as Saturday morning saw the divers win yet again. The swim portion was only slightly different, as this year's swims were ridiculously fast (see: Dale, Tim; Savio, John; Neill, MO'; Sizemore, Mike) and several relays were won by SLUH. In the end, a win in the final event, the 200 Medley, capped by Dale's blazing freestyle, secured another tie for first for the Jr. Bills.
