Winter 2008
Opening Day Victory
The team started the season with a thrilling 8-7 victory at Belleville West. Sophomore Ben Kraemer pitched a stellar three hitter in his five and two-thirds innings of work. Freshman Andrew Ostapowicz came in for relief of Kraemer and pitched his way out of a jam. Another freshman, Alex Goedeker, took the mound for the remainder of the game and forced a Belleville West hitter to ground into a nicely turned double play in the final inning. Freshman Clint Wobbe started out a 7 run 3rd inning with a single on a 3-2 count. In the 6th inning, freshman Griffin Lowry hit a shot into centerfield which gave him a stand up triple. He then scored the game winning run on Sophomore Ryan McReynold's fly ball in left field that barely landed in fair territory, giving Ryan a double. Needless to say the team was ecstatic about winning their first game of the year and look forward to the game tomorrow against Cleveland.
