SLUH jumped out to an early lead, then hung on to defeat DeSmet 12-7 and claim the JV Conference Championship for the second consecutive year.
Led offensively in the early going by Trent Going & Steve Sigman, the Jr. Bills came out looking like they were going to bury the Spartans. Going & Sigman finished with 4 goals a piece, while John Savio and Will Derdeyn rounded out the scoring with 3 & 1 goal each.
Defensively, the Spartans were extremely aggressive about going to offense late in the game and were able to narrow the gap to the final score. But, the lead was too great to overcome and the Jr. Bills were able to celebrate the championship with a customary bath for their coach.
