Varsity Wins 5th Consecutive MCC Championship

A season full of hard work came to a head on Friday evening at the Chaminade natatorium. Despite having no event wins, the St. Louis U. High swimming & diving team won an unprecedented 5th consecutive MCC Championship.

Head coach Fritz Long said: "We had some really great swims, and some really fast times." Assistant coach John Penilla added, "I was surprised to hear we were winning when they announced the score, simply because we weren't winning. But we had such good swims, particularly in the Consolation heat, that we were picking up gobs of points along the way."

The swim team will now focus its attention to the State Meet, held this weekend at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters, MO.
