Fall 2008

Jr. Bills brave the elements, rally past Red Devils

The Jr. Bills started their fourth game of the season on a good note with a marvelous over the shoulder sliding catch by second baseman Ryan McReynolds, but then the wheels came off as pitcher Brian Kinealy gave up four runs in the first inning. Joe Schwarz came in to relieve Brian with two outs and not only saved the inning for the Jr. Bills, but the game as well. Jeff Brand and Ryan McReynolds led the team in hitting with three RBI’s each. The game ended just as it started, with a spectacular defensive play, this time by third baseman Stephen Clark, who made a superb off-balance throw to get the runner at first. The game was called after the fifth inning due to rain. This proved to be a true test for the Jr. Bills who were able to battle back and beat Chaminade 9-7 in the rain.
