SLUH Charges Past Rams With Season Ending Victory
The Jr. Bills ended their season on a positive note as they blew past the visiting Rams from MICDS 6-1. Jeff Brand had a phenomenal performance on the mound, needing just 83 pitches to strike out 8 in his 7 inning 1-hit complete game. He easily breezed through the Rams’ lineup until the 5th inning in which some unfortunate errors allowed runners to get on the corners, but he was able to end that terror by inducing a 4-6-3 double play, a trademark of the Bills this season. The top three hitters did the most damage in this game as Pat Roy scored three times, Steve Marincel had two doubles and scored twice, and Jeff Brand drove in three runs. After this season ending victory, the Jr. Bills’ record moves to 9-5 and they hope to improve and build on that in the coming Varsity season.
