Liturgy

The Eucharist is the center of life at SLUH. We celebrate the Eucharist in a variety of settings:

Daily:
Daily Mass is offered in the Main Chapel at 7:20 a.m. Students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and friends of SLUH are invited and encouraged to attend.

All-School:
The entire SLUH community gathers to celebrate all-school Masses for the following occasions: Holy Spirit, All Saints, Thanksgiving, Ash Wednesday, and the End of the Year. Students are involved in many areas of planning from selecting music and readings to setting and cleaning up to decorating the gymnasium, to helping with homily preparation. Students also serve as acolytes, lectors, cantors, and musicians.

Class:
Each Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior celebrates four Masses with his classmates and homeroom teachers. As with the All-School Masses, students volunteer to prepare the celebration and take part as servers, readers and musicians.

Family:
We celebrate Mother/Son, Father/Son, and the bi-annual family Masses to strengthen and celebrate the important role family life plays in our students' development.

Grandparents:
Grandparents and grandsons celebrate the Eucharist together annually to re-emphasize the meaning and value of family.
