ACTION STATEMENTS FROM THE 2006 RETREAT
ACES MEMBERS WILL:
- serve as a support system for all ACES members and the community.
- promote self-love in ourselves while supporting other members in our school.
- be educated on diversity and all that is associated with it.
- take action against any injustice that we are aware of.
- put forth the effort within ourselves to interrupt any forms of oppression.
- actively keep an open mind so that we may understand others.
- be accepting and inclusive of cultures outside of our own.
- interrupt hurtful language that we hear towards others.
- be persistent in educating people on what ACES is about.
- motivate each other and other people.
- lead the community by example rather than just talk.
- work closely with other groups in the school and in the broader community with like goals.
- stay updated via meeting minutes or the ACES page of the school’s website.
- participate in STUCO forums as the voice of diversity & inclusiveness in the school.
- be fearless and united in the face of struggle.
