MORE ABOUT THE Pulse:

The Pulse is the official radio station of Saint Louis University High School. The station is 100% student-run and has been broadcasting twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week for over three nonconsecutive years. I say "nonconsecutive" because for the last few years, The Pulse has been in a state of "unconsciousness" and has just recently begun to operate again. The Pulse was founded in the fall of 1999 by Mark Emmanuel and Kyle Smith, SLUH students at the time. Brad Tissi took over as General Manager in 2003 and helped bring the Pulse to a level where its potential was huge. Tim Weaks ('06) took over from Tissi in the Spring of 2005 as General Manager. Since then, The Pulse has expanded with a brand new website, a larger listening audience, and the capability of being heard throughout the school over the television sets on Channel 39 behind the Scrolling Announcements. Monday, November 7th, 2005, was the monumental day of the first Pulse broadcast throughout the school and the next day marked the first Pulse talk show: Prep Sports Talk with Cliff and Andrew. In the future, the Pulse hopes to expand even more with the addition of a fully operational radio mixer board that would allow the Pulse to broadcast at a more sophisticated level. Also, expect bigger giveaways and a concert in the Spring featuring popular St. Louis rock bands.
