Weightlifting Club

The purpose of the Weight Lifting Club is to create a more positive atmosphere and a more communal environment in the weight room, especially for those who are just beginning weight training.  When I am in the weight room I see many people who do not have correct form and have no idea what they are doing.  This is not only potentially dangerous for SLUH students, but it also results in very little or no gain.  For this reason, we will help with proper form, weight room safety, and most of all, focus on improvement.  The Weight Lifting Club will meet regularly in the weight room on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at normal hours after school.  The Weight Lifting Club is also a way for normal lifters who go to the weight room regularly that receive no recognition, to become a part of an active group.   Occasionally we will meet during activity periods to discuss proper form and specific workouts.  The officers will be in charge of posting workouts and other cross fit training programs in the weight room.  The funds of the weightlifting club will go to improving the weight room.  To gain funds, there could be protein bars sold in the weight room after school or other things.  We encourage everyone to go to the weight room and participate in the SLUH Weight Lifting Club.
