Souza Takes Singles Title in Tennis
St. Louis University High School senior Abe Souza won the Missouri Class 2 singles title on Saturday, May 25 at the Cooper Tennis Complex. Souza, who did not lose a set all season, defeated Parkway Central's Alex Sapot 6-2, 7-5 to capture the state title. After winning the final four games of the first set, Sapot came back in the second set with a 4-1 advantage. Souza showed his remarkable talent as he rebounded from being down two breaks in the second set. He will be attending the University of Illinois in the fall.
