SLUH Principal to Retire After School Year

SLUH President David Laughlin recently announced that Principal Dr. Mary Schenkenberg will be retiring after the completion of this school year. Dr. Schenkenberg has decided to retire and spend more time with her family after serving as the school's principal for the past five years.

In a letter to the SLUH community, Mr. Laughlin said: "While now is not the time to formally recognize Dr. Schenkenberg's many accomplishments as the Principal of SLUH (there is, of course, much work remaining to be completed this year), I would be remiss to not express my deep appreciation to be able to work alongside her in the mission of Jesuit education at SLUH."

As Dr. Schenkenberg completes her sixth, and final year as principal, SLUH will be searching for her successor, a process that has already begun. A search committee will assist Mr. Laughlin in identifying, interviewing and selecting a qualified candidate. The timing of Dr. Schenkenberg's announcement will ensure ample time for a thorough selection process and great continuity for the academic year in progress.

SLUH is actively seeking qualified candidates. Submissions must be received before Friday, January 11, 2008. Click HERE for further details.
