SLUH Announces New Principal Effective July 1, 2008

Mr. David Laughlin, President of St. Louis University High School, has named Dr. John J. Moran as the school’s next principal effective July 1, 2008. Dr. Moran is named after an open search process conducted by the school’s Search Committee and with the approval of the school’s Board of Trustees. Dr. Moran will replace Dr. Mary Schenkenberg who is retiring after six years in the position.

Since 1994, Dr. Moran has served in several roles at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, Massachusetts. St. John’s Preparatory School is a Catholic Xaverian Brothers school where Dr. Moran has served as an English teacher, the Campus Ministry Director, the Dean of Students and is currently the Assistant Principal for Academics. Before going to St. John’s, he taught for a year at St. Bede’s Secondary School, Pietersburg, in the Republic of South Africa. He is a graduate of Fordham University with a Masters from Middlebury College, Vermont and his doctorate in educational administration from Boston College.
