Leaders Recognized at Assembly
St. Louis University High School hosted its annual awards ceremony today, honoring students for their participation and achievement in various co-curricular activities. The ceremony also honored students and staff with a series of awards recognizing them for their high achievement, commitment and service to SLUH.
Latin teacher Mark Tychonievich was recognized with the Faculty Appreciation Award yesterday at a special mass offered for him. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, and is undergoing surgery today. Though he was not present to receive the award today, he received a standing ovation.
The Faculty Appreciation Award is voted on by the senior class and is presented in gratitude to the teachers at SLUH for all of their efforts toward the growth of their students, for excellence in the classroom as well as contributions outside the classroom.
