Vianney defeats C-Team in MCC action

The C-Football team traveled to St. John Vianney High School to take on the Golden Griffins and lost to the Griffins 21-14. Vianney took the opening kickoff and marched down the field on a 7:00 minute drive and scored on a 3 yd. run. After a series by the Jr. Bills stalled, the Vianney offense went on another long drive and capitalized with a short run to make the score 14-0. The Jr. Bills got on the scoreboard right before half with a 36 yd. touchdown pass from Trevor McDonagh to Mitch Klug to make the score 14-7. The Jr. Bills dominated most of the third quarter and the first part of the fourth when they scored on a 23 yd. touchdown pass to tie the score at 14-14. Vianney was able to take advantage of a block punt late in the game to score with 1:45 left to take a 21-14 lead. The last effort by the Jr. Bills ended in a failure on a fourth down conversion and St. John Vianney came away with the victory. The C-Football team is 5-3, which include a 1-1 D-game record, and 2-1 in the MCC. They will next be in action on Thurs. 10/9 when they host the Red Devils of Chaminade. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
