Soccer Team Wins Season Opener
The St. Louis University High School varsity soccer team opened its season with a 1-0 victory at O’Fallon on Tuesday, August 29th. Junior Jack Twellman scored the team’s first goal of the season in the opening half."For the first game I was very pleased, although we still have many things to work on," says coach Charlie Martel. "O'Fallon was a very good team, and their goalkeeper had to make several good saves to keep the score at 1-0."
"Our team has great potential and we will see how they respond to adversity and whether or not they will be able to play together as a team. So far, they have met expectations."
Upcoming matches take place Friday, September 1st at 7 p.m. against Gibault at Oerter Park, and Saturday, September 2nd at 2 p.m. against Brebeuf Jesuit-Indiana at home.
