Varsity Football Jumps to 2-0 Record
The varsity football team’s match against Althoff on Friday, September 9th came down to the wire. SLUH was leading 21-14 with less than 2 minutes remaining, when an Althoff touchdown sent the game into overtime. Junior running back Drew Blackmon earned the game-winner in overtime with a 10-yard touchdown run, thus catapulting SLUH to a 2-0 record.Among the game highlights, SLUH sophomore running back Ronnie Wingo earned 136 yards on 38 carries and a touchdown, and he caught five passes for another 42 yards.
