Freshmen & Freshman Parents

Below are answers to Frequently Asked Questions, as well as advice previous freshmen have generated after a year at SLUH. If you need additional information, please call Mrs. Kim Gohl at (314) 531-0330 ext. 100 or Mrs. Jan Cotter at ext. 127.

1. What do I have to read this summer?

How many applicants do you usually have and how many students will be admitted into the freshman class?

Summer reading book selections will be announced for the 2008-09 school year as soon as they have been determined.

Summer books are available through MBS Books, our online textbook provider. Information on textbook purchasing is listed below.

When is my Direction Day?

Assignments for Direction Days will be posted as soon as they are available.

The agenda for each Direction Day includes:

8:00 a.m. Parents drop off freshmen, who meet in Main Chapel

8:20 a.m. Students bussed to Green Hills farm

3:00 p.m. Parents meeting in Currigan Room with Mr. Laughlin, Dr. Schenkenberg and Guidance Department

4:30 p.m. Mass in Main Chapel for students and parents

5:30 p.m. Dinner in Danis Lobby

What if I can't come on my scheduled Direction day?
You should receive a letter about your Direction Day. Please call Matt Stewart, Campus Minister, at ext. 149 if you have questions.

Is Freshmen Orientation mandatory?
Yes.

When do Fall sports begin?
The beginning of fall 2008 sports will be announced when this information is available.

All freshmen must have a physical on file with Mr. Gilbert BEFORE they begin practice. For further information on how to obtain a physical, click here.

The number of the SLUH Sports Line is (314) 531-0330, press #5.

When do I get my books?

Further information regarding this for the 2008-09 school year will be posted when it is available. The school's new online bookstore was available for students to purchase books on July 1, 2007 for the 2007-08 school year.

When is the bookstore open?
Summer hours to be announced.

During the school year (for regularly scheduled days):
Before school: 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Activity Period: 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
After school: 2:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

What happens if I lose or forget my K12 user ID and password?

Contact Mrs. Kim Gohl at (314) 531-0330 x100 if you lost or forget your K12 access information.

How do students apply credit for cafeteria purchases on their student ID?

The student simply gives the money or check to one of the cashiers in the cafeteria and the amount will be applied to their account.
