Below are answers to Frequently Asked Questions, as well as advice previous freshmen have generated after a year at SLUH. If you need additional information, please call Mrs. Kim Gohl at (314) 531-0330 ext. 100 or Mrs. Jan Cotter at ext. 127.

When is my Direction Day?

Organized by Student's Last Name

  • Abeln-Favier - Monday, August 17th

  • Fisher-Koch-Etzel - Tuesday, August 18th

  • Kocisak-Reilly - Wednesday, August 19th

  • Reitz-Zeiss - Thursday, August 20th

PLEASE NOTE: Students must have a physical on file before attending Direction Day.

The agenda for each Direction Day includes:

  • 8:00 a.m. - Parents drop off freshmen, who meet in Main Chapel

  • 8:20 a.m. - Students bussed to Green Hills farm

  • 3:00 p.m. - Parents meeting in Currigan Room with Mr. Laughlin, Dr. Moran and Guidance Department

  • 4:30 p.m. - Mass in Main Chapel for students and parents

  • 5:30 p.m. - Dinner in Danis Lobby

What if I can't come on my scheduled Direction Day?
You should receive a letter about your Direction Day. For futher information, please contact Brian Gilmore at bgilmore@sluh.org, or Tim Curdt at tcurdt@sluh.org.

Is Freshmen Orientation mandatory?
Yes. All Freshmen must attend Freshmen Orientation on Wednesday, August 26. They should report to their homeroom at 8:30 a.m. and be in warm weather dress code. Classes officially begin the next day, Thursday, August 27.

What do I have to read this summer?
Summer reading book selections for the 2009-10 school year can be accessed by clicking HERE. Summer books are available through MBS Books, our online textbook provider. Information on textbook purchasing is listed below.

When do Fall sports begin?
The Fall 2009 sports season officially begins on Monday, August 10th.

All freshmen must have a physical on file with Mr. Gilbert BEFORE they begin practice. For further information on how to obtain a physical, click here.

When do I get my books?

Further information regarding this for the 2009-10 school year will be posted when it is available. SLUH's online bookstore can be accessed by clicking HERE.

When is the bookstore open?
During the school year (for regularly scheduled days):
Before school: 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Activity Period: 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
After school: 2:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

What happens if I lose or forget my PowerSchool user ID and password?

Contact Mrs. Kim Gohl at (314) 531-0330 x100 if you lost or forget your PowerSchool access information.

How do students apply credit for cafeteria purchases on their student ID?

The student simply gives the money or check to one of the cashiers in the cafeteria and the amount will be applied to their account.
