Retreats
The juniors have an option of selecting from four pre-arranged retreats. Junior retreat is not a requirement but is strongly encouraged and is always found to be a moving and profound experience. Retreat options are as follows:
White House Retreat
White House retreats are three-day, two-night events that are led by faculty. Students leave after school on a Monday and return by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (missing two days of school). Dates for 2010-11 include:
October 24-26, 2011
November 21-23, 2011
January 23-25, 2012
White House Retreat Center

Junior Kairos
There is also a longer, more intensive, student-led retreat in spring known as the Junior Kairos Retreat. Traditionally this is held at Kings House Retreat Center and students leave on a Sunday evening and return the following Wednesday around 6 p.m. Three days of class time are missed for this retreat.
February 28-March 2, 2012
April 17-20, 2012
Sign-ups for retreat start in September on a first-come first-served basis. It is not uncommon for retreats to fill up quickly, so signing up early is suggested. Students must sign up in person with Mr. Gilmore in the Pastoral Office.
Note: While retreats are subsidized by SLUH, there still is a fee for participation. $100 helps to offset the lodging and food over the time spent at the centers. Please see the Pastoral department if there are issues.
