Tom Santel '76
Chairman, St. Louis University High School Board of Trustees

St. Louis University High is a Jesuit Catholic, college preparatory school with an enrollment of approximately 1050 male students. Founded in 1818, the school strives to serve an economically, socially and geographically diverse student population within the St. Louis metropolitan area. Academic excellence is a trademark of the school.

St. Louis University High is a leadership school that serves the community through innovative programs in the summer and a very active community service program during the school year.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the president is the chief executive and administrative officer of the school. While delegating many of the responsibilities for the academic program and student formation to the principal, the president is responsible for the overall management, control and direction of the school. The president serves as the primary representative of the school to alumni, donors and external civic, religious and academic organizations. Both religious and lay persons are welcome to apply.

We are a Catholic, Jesuit college-preparatory school for young men, committed to its presence in the city of St. Louis and dedicated to building Christ's kingdom of truth, justice, love, and peace. We serve young men based on their ability to succeed, rather than their economic circumstances.

Through a rigorous academic program, we help our students develop critical minds and a life-long devotion to learning that informs moral choices and transforms lives.

In addition to assisting in the intellectual, aesthetic, social and physical formation of our students, we help them develop compassionate hearts by fostering habits of personal prayer, reflection, and service for the Greater Glory of God.
