An Education Within Reach
A SLUH education is an invaluable investment that we believe should be available to talented students from all financial backgrounds. We admit young men based on their ability to succeed, and no qualified student is turned away for financial reasons.
No family is charged the full cost to educate each student, which is significantly more than tuition. Generous alumni and benefactors help to bridge the gap, ensuring a SLUH education is accessible to as many young men as possible.
SLUH is More Affordable Than You Think

About Financial Assistance
We make every effort to assist families who demonstrate financial eligibility, the calculated measure of a family’s need for financial assistance. Besides income (taxable and non-taxable), we take into account assets, expenses, liabilities and the number of children attending Catholic schools (K-12). Furthermore, we encourage families to bring any special circumstances to our attention.
Financial aid applicants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Each student award decision is unique. Families are required to create a FACTS application in order to receive their award.

Work Grant Program
All recipients participate in the work grant program. Student responsibilities are structured around each young man's unique schedule.
Will my family qualify for financial assistance?
All families seeking financial assistance are required to complete an application on the FACTS Tuition Management website.
FACTS provides a discretionary and confidential method to collect financial information, allowing the Financial Aid Committee to determine awards. Final decisions are made by the SLUH Financial Aid Office. Admissions decisions are need-blind.

We are pleased to offer a Merit Scholars Program that deepens our commitment to financial accessibility and intellectual excellence. This program provides both academic merit recognition and partial tuition awards.

“At SLUH we found a well-rounded, diverse community where everybody is accepted and valued for their differences. The sacrifices made to pay eight years of tuition were more than worthy as our sons’ education set them up for success in life – both professionally and personally – as Men for Others. The memories they made and their educational experiences were priceless, and we are forever grateful to SLUH.”
