We went three-for-three in team championships at the Big River Invitational at Buder North Park on Friday afternoon, an accomplishment that included 39 PRs, 14 medals, 8 pumpkin prizes, and 2 race champions.

Varsity ran first. With Rock Bridge choosing to rest their varsity in advance of Districts and State races to come, the final outcome wasn't in doubt before long. Nolan Meara battled with a fine runner from Fox throughout the race and earned second place. Anthony Zangara ran the race of the day for the varsity, finishing in third place overall and running a PR time in the process. Our three final scorers on the day were Charlie Murray (4th), Carter Lowe (9th), and George Donahue (11th). Jaden Elgin was our sixth and final varsity medalist.

The JV-1 race was our first of two perfect scores on the day. Junior Charlie Gray took control of the race by the mile mark and ran solo for an impressive victory in 17:10. Gus Talleur, Brendan Jones, Noah Evers, and Nicholas Purschke completed our perfect score of 15. Nicholas's race was another standout, with the senior captain running under 18 minutes for the first time ever. With his time of 18:05, freshman Nick Ahlheim became the second freshman to earn a varsity letter on the season. Also medalling were Logan Phillips, Lucas Strohmeyer, and Clark Davis.

In the JV-2 race, our five scoring runners sat on the shoulders of a pack of runners from Ft. Zumwalt West through the mile before overtaking them in the second mile and getting in position for the perfect score with about 800 meters to go. Our first three finishers were all freshmen: Jake Fitzpatrick, Hendrix Fyvie, and Preston Eash, with Garrett Franks and Andrew Moritz completing the perfect score. Also medalling were Joe Stoeckel, Jens Istvan, and Jesse Heater. There were a whole raft of PRs and fine races for this group, including 10 runners who PR'd by over a minute. All that data is listed below.
