March 26 at SLUH Track

SLUH opened the season with CBC, DeSmet Jesuit, and Rockwood Summit. The meet was not scored as this was an opportunity for athletes to learn how a meet works and to get experience for the season. Results can be found here.

March 29 at Festus High School (501 Westwind Dr, Festus, MO 63028)

The team finished 7th out of 30 teams in the McCullough-Douglas Invitational hosted by Festus High School. Highlights include a new 3200 meter school record by Alex Bendaña in 9:05.25. The 4x800 of Ben Yoffie, Warnicke Beatty, Nathan Khouri, and Joe Talleur ran 8:14 for second place. Nick Ahlheim and Ben Yoffie went 3-4 in the 1600. Another highlight was sophomore sprinters Spencer Williams and Harry Holmes both scoring in the 200 meters. Full results can be found here.

April 4 at Southern Boone High School (14520 S Crump Ln, Ashland, MO 65010)

April 5 at Marquette High School (2351 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63017)

April 8 at Hixson Middle School (630 S Elm Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119)

The SLUH team competed against Webster, Kirkwood, Ladue, and Parkway West at the Webster JV Invitational. Athletes were coach-timed for the results. SLUH results can be found here.

April 12 at Hixson Middle School (630 S Elm Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119)

The JV finished 3rd and the Varsity 2nd at the Webster Groves V/JV Invitational.

Varsity top 4 finishes included Spencer Williams (100), Alex Bendaña (1600), Gus Talleur (1600), JP Blanner (300 Hurdles), Josh Abbott (Javelin), Cam Schlueter (Javelin), Charlie Casey (Pole Vault), Luca Rogan (Long Jump, Triple Jump) 4x800 (H. Fyvie, Beatty, J. Talleur, Ahlheim), and 4x1600 (Yoffie, J. Talleur, Beatty, Luna).

JV top 4 finishes included Matt LeGrand (400, Javelin), Aidan Smith (800), JP Wildermuth (1600), Brayden Bussmann (1600), Jaden Elgin (3200), Peter Knapp (Pole Vault), 4x400 (Smith, Wildermuth, Nowak, Bussmann), and 4x800 (Reske, Vogt, Nowak, Elgin)

April 12 at Chaminade (425 S Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63131)

The V2 finished 2nd in the All Catholic Invitational.

Top 5 performances included Nathan Khouri (1600), Landon Ranson (300 Hurdles), Gibby Fyvie (800), Jake Fitzpatrick (3200), Tristan Kujawa (3200), Colin Minor (High Jump), Matthew Taylor (Javelin), Henry Fitzpatrick (Discus), 4x400 (Ranson, Brower-Toland, G. Fyvie, Khouri), and 4x800 (Khouri, Ranson, Kujawa, Fitzpatrick).

April 16 at SLUH Track

April 23 at Kirkwood High School (801 W Essex Ave, Kirkwood, MO 63122)

SLUH was victorious over 7 other teams at the Kirkwood Freshman Invitational. SLUH took on over 30 teams at Ladue for their home invitational. Medalists (top 4) included: Cam Schlueter (Javelin), Matthew Moore (110 Hurdles), Ben Yoffie (800), and Jake Fitzpatrick (3200).

Four SLUH distance runners qualified to compete in the elite Distance Night in Palatine.

SLUH took 2nd out of 6 teams at the Jim Farrell Invitational. Medalists (top 3) included: Landon Ranson (400m), Joe Talleur (800m), Gibby Fyvie (800m), Jake Fitzpatrick (1600m), Michael Luna (3200m), Nathan Khouri (3200m), Lucas Bonk (110H), Josh Abbott (Javelin), Cam Schlueter (Javelin), Charlie Casey (Pole Vault), Colin Minor (Triple Jump), 4x400 Relay (Ranson, C. Lezeianya, Nowak, and Elgin), and the 4x800 Relay (Khouri, Hartweger, Williams, Luna).

SLUH competed against DeSmet Jesuit, Northwest, and Priory at the DeSmet JV Invitational. SLUH was in third place out of 29 teams through 8 events when the meet was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. Top 8 finishes included Luca Rogan (Triple Jump), Dylan Humphrey (Triple Jump), Alex Bendaña (1600), Gus Talleur (1600), and the 4x800 Relay (Bendaña, Talleur, Fyvie, Ahlheim).

SLUH takes 2nd at the John Mohr C Invitational, hosted by Vianney High School. Medalists (top 3) included: Quinn Tenny (800), Charlie Pagel (800), Phineas Gilbert (1600), Jonah Ebenhoh (3200), Ryan Kindschuh (3200), Clark Wellen (Shot Put, Javelin), Henry Fitzpatrick (Discus, Javelin), Logan Reed (High Jump), Peter Knapp (Pole Vault), JP Schmidt (Pole Vault), and the 4x800 Relay (Krussel, Bussmann, Sloan, Rathnakumar).

For the 13th season in a row, the Jr. Billikens won the varsity MCC title! The JV were also victorious.

May 17 at Parkway South High School

SLUH took 3rd place overall in a very competitive district. We also qualified (top 4) to Sectionals in 7 events. Here are the sectional qualifiers:

A special congratulations to Josh Abbott, who broke the school record in the Javelin. The record now stands at 50.85m or 166'10".

May 24 at Hillsboro High School

SLUH was able to advance in four events to the state championships. 

• Luca Rogan in Long Jump
• Alex Bendaña in the 1600 and 3200
• Gus Talleur in the 3200
• The 4x800 relay of Nick Ahlheim, Ben Yoffie, Hendrix Fyvie, and Jackson Miller

May 30-31 at Jefferson City High School (609 Union St, Jefferson City, MO 65101)

SLUH finished 11th at the state championships by scoring 21 points in 4 events. On day 1, Luca Rogan finished his SLUH career with a 10th place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.54 meters. Luca was SLUH's first qualifier in the event since 2016. Also on day 1, Alex Bendaña finished 3rd overall in the 1600 while also breaking the school record while running 4:10.39.

On day 2, SLUH started off by finishing 4th in the 4x800 meter relay. The relay of Alex Bendaña, Nick Ahlheim, Hendrix Fyvie, and Jackson Miller ran 7:49 for the third fastest in school history. In the 3200, Alex Bendaña and Gus Talleur both finish in all-state positions. Gus ran 9:18 for 7th place. His time is now the third fastest time in school history. Alex finished second overall and lowered his school record to 9:04.96.
