Meet Information & Results

March 20 at SLUH Track

SLUH opened the season with CBC, DeSmet Jesuit, North Point, and Rockwood Summit. The meet was not scored as this was an opportunity for athletes to learn how a meet works and to get experience for the season. Results can be found here.

March 23 at Festus High School (501 Westwind Dr, Festus, MO 63028)

The team battled the cold and wind at Festus in the first varsity invitational of the season. Highlights include freshman Jackson Miller and junior Alex Bendana running 9:20 and 9:33 respectively in the 3200, senior Jacobi Oliphant with a victory in the 110 hurdles and a second place in the 300 hurdles, senior Dom Novotny with a new PR in the shot put, and sophomore Josh Abbott throwing over 38 meters in the javelin in his first ever meet. March 30 at Marquette High School (2351 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63017)

Both the varsity and JV competed in the Mustang Classic hosted by Marquette High School. JV Medalists (top 4) included Joe Talleur (800 and 4x800), Luke Hartweger (800 and 4x800), Patrick Jones (800), Michael Luna (1600), Charlie Gray (1600 and 4x800), Noah Evers (3200), Gavin Smith (3200), Ben Yoffie (3200 and 4x800), and Thad Berta (Pole Vault). 

Varsity Medalists (top 4) included Jackson Miller (1600), Mason Scargall (4x800), Jake Fitzpatrick (4x800), Hendrix Fyvie (4x800), Nick Ahlheim (4x800), and Dom Novotny (Shot Put).

April 5 at Eureka High School (4525 MO-109, Eureka, MO 63025)

The varsity team tied for the team title in a fantastic meet hosted by Eureka while the JV tied for 7th. In addition, the program broke two meet records. The 4x800 meter relay of Anthony Zangara, George Donahue, Gus Talleur, and Alex Bendana ran 8:21.84 for the meet record and Jacobi Oliphant's 110 hurdle time of 14.83 also broke his own existing meet record.

JV Medalists (top 3) included Ben Yoffie (4x800, 1600m), Luke Hartweger (4x800, 3200m), Charlie Gray (3200m), Michael Luna (4x800), and Preston Eash (4x800)

Varsity Medalists (top 3) included Jacobi Oliphant (110 hurdles, 100m, 300 hurdles), Jackson Miller (800m, 1600m), Alex Bendana (4x800, 1600m), Micah Shaw (4x100), Harry Holmes (4x100), Jaxon Bennett (4x100), Spencer Williams (4x100), Anthony Zangara (4x800), George Donahue (4x800), Gus Talleur (4x800), Dom Novotny (Shot Put, Discus), and Josh Abbott (Javelin).

April 6 at Chaminade (425 S Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63131)

The V2 group competed against the Catholic schools around the area as well as one team from Chicago in the All Catholic Invitational at Chaminade. The program placed 4th overall on the day.

Medalists (top 3) included Mason Scargall (4x800, 3200m), Jake Fitzpatrick (4x800, 3200m), Joe Talleur (4x800), Hendrix Fyvie (4x800), Dylan Humphrey (Triple Jump), Dom Novotny (Shot Put), and Cam Schlueter (Javelin).

April 10 at SLUH Track

The program braved and wet and cold conditions as we welcomed DeSmet, CBC, Vianney, Rockwood Summit, and North Point.

Event winners included Joe Talleur (4x800), Charlie Gray (4x800), Ethan Bognar (4x800 and  4x400), Otto Reitenbach (4x800), Gus Talleur (1600), Noah Evers (3200), Ben Yoffie (800), Mason Scargall (4x400), Lucas Strohmeyer (4x400), Luke Hartweger (4x400), Charlie Casey (Pole Vault), and Luca Rogan (Triple Jump). Ashton Porter also led the sprinters with 2 new PRs in the 100 and 200.

April 13 at Ladue High School (1201 South, Warson Rd, St. Louis, MO 63124)

SLUH finished 2nd overall as a team at the prestigious Ladue Invitational. Medalists (top 4) include Jacobi Oliphant (110 Hurdles, 300 Hurdles, 200), Jackson Miller (800), Alex Bendana (4x800, 3200), Nick Ahlheim (4x800), Charlie Murray (4x800), Anthony Zangara (4x800), Dom Novotny (Discus), and Cam Schlueter (Javelin).

April 17 at Kirkwood High School (801 W Essex Ave, Kirkwood, MO 63122)

The program finished 4th at the Kirkwood C Invitational, despite scoring over 100 points in the meet. SLUH took second overall in the prestigious Winston Brown Invitational hosted by Edwardsville High School. SLUH was team champions of the Jim Farrell Invitational, hosted by Vianney High School. It was a great day filled with PRs at the DeSmet JV/C Invitational. Top 3 individual performances included Gavin Smith (1600, 800), Jaden Elgin (1600), Logan Phillips (800), Noah Evers (3200), Michael Luna (3200), Preston Eash (3200), Colin Minor (Triple Jump), Nathaniel Shaw (Triple Jump), August Russell (Pole Vault), Alex Keuss (Pole Vault), and Thad Berta (Pole Vault).

April 27 at Kirkwood High School (801 W Essex Ave, Kirkwood, MO 63122)

SLUH takes third place overall out of 25 teams at the Dale Collier Invitational. Medalists (Top 6) included: Colin Minor (High Jump), Dom Novotny (Discus), Cam Schlueter (Javelin), Anthony Zangara (4x800), Gus Talleur (4x800), Mason Scargall (4x800), Nick Ahlheim (4x800), Jacobi Oliphant (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Jackson Miller (1600, 3200), Alex Bendana (1600), and Charlie Murray (3200).

A special congratulations to Jacobi Oliphant who broke the school record in the 100 hurdles. His time of 14.22 surpasses Daniel Isom's record of 14.45. Also of highlight was freshman Jackson Miller. His times of 4:13 in the 1600 and 9:19 in the 3200 are both freshman records for the state of Missouri.

A group of freshman competed in the John Mohr C Invitational, hosted by Vianney High School. Medalists (top 3) included Sam Porter (100, 200, 4x200), Nathan Khouri (4x800, 1600), Michael Luna (3200), John Pierre (4x200), Adam Munoz (4x200), Charlie LaPresta (4x200), Jack Powers (4x800), and Justin Scholl (4x800).

May 1 at SLUH Track

The program was victorious in both the varsity and JV levels at the MCC championships.

The JV and C teams finished their season as we hosted Marquette, DeSmet Jesuit, CBC, Vianney, and Webster Groves. May 11 at Hillsboro High School

SLUH competed in Class 5 District 1 and won the district championship. Qualifiers to Sectionals include Jacobi Oliphant (110 hurdles, 100m, 300 hurdles, 200m), Dominic Novotny (Shot Put, Discus), Jackson Miller (1600m, 3200m), Alex Bendana (4x800, 3200), Anthony Zangara (4x800, 800), Nick Ahlheim (4x800, 800), Charlie Murray (4x800), and Cam Schlueter (Javelin).
