Volunteer Opportunities and Board Details
ALL parents are EXPECTED to participate in one or more committees and/or take on a role. Please contact a board member or chair person for details. We will have sign up opportunities at the Parent Information Meeting as well.
*PRESIDENT: Missy McCormick
Maintains organization of Club and its policies, responsible for execution of policies of club as determined by the board, and acts as Club liaison to SLUH. Oversee completion and verification of all forms (including school physicals) necessary to participate.
*VICE PRESIDENT: Ed Bertram
Assists President with all club administration. Responsible for organizing team trips, including transportation, accommodations, and meals.
*TREASURER: Dan Tlapek
Maintain financial integrity of the Club, develop operating budget, work with SLUH business office to reconcile all revenue and expenses are posted correctly, main point of contact for reimbursement of Club expenses, and communicate Club financial status to board.
*ADMINISTRATOR/REGISTRAR – Bobi Toebe
Point of contact for SportsEngine software that is used to administer most aspects of the club. Registration, contact information, team rosters/pages, payment collection, etc. Role would require you to use set up registrations when needed, roster players to teams when tryouts are over, manage the initial import of each team's practice/game schedule, help other board members to access data from the system when needed.
*SECRETARY/COMMUNICATIONS – Kate Glass & Brooke Williams
Send club-wide information to all players/parents as necessary via Sports Engine email, maintain minutes of board meetings, update SLUH website and Sports Engine site with changes, and assist with social media posts.
*VARSITY PARENT REP – Melissa Boyer
Dispersing team specific information from coaches and the Board to parents throughout the season. Recruit team parents to assist with team needs throughout the season for game day. (Game announcer, scoreboard, scorebook table - spotters/penalties/stats, uniform distribution, and return)
Coordinate with coaches regarding tournament needs.
Identify and train JV and Jr. Jr. Teams' parent representatives to do the above for their teams.
Team Photos/Program Creation Coordinator - Jen Kelly
Work with a professional photographer to set up a date as soon after team placement as possible (late Feb/Early March). Provide the photographer with rosters for each team. Collect height and weight and verify jersey numbers for all JV and Varsity players. Coaches in group or headshots, team photos, senior group shots, and banners will also be needed. Create or manage the creation of the season program using the above photos along with game schedules, event pages, etc. See prior program for reference.
Fall Ball Coordinator - Kate Glass
Manage the fall ball season with Coach Toussaint. One team will have practice times and a couple of tournaments. Duties include ensuring Sports Engine is set up (registration, added players are rostered, the practice schedule is entered), communication of program to players, the team is registered, and having SLUH pay for agreed-upon tournaments.
Open House Coordinator - Nancy Robinson
Coordinate SLUH Lacrosse representation at the SLUH Open House on Sunday, November 6th, 2022, and print up flyers for the table. The coach will recruit current players to stand at the table to hand out lacrosse information for the upcoming season. Help the players set up the table with jerseys, trophies, any handout swag we might have, and a computer monitor with season highlight pictures and video footage.
Merchandise coordinator - Drea Ranel & Robert Olson
Manage the online Athlete Store and Spirit Store run through SquadLocker. Execute any club-wide order needed. Shooter shirts, Equipment bags, Helmets, Fr. Marco T-Shirts, etc. as directed by the Board.
Pre Season Kick-off Event Chair - Darren Vehlewald
Organize a preseason meeting/event to take place immediately after team placements, for uniform distribution, and the introduction of the coaches, the Parent Board, and other volunteers. This has been done in the Commons in the past with dinner after practice.
Parent Representative –
Each team has one parent to ensure things run smoothly for that team. Assigning scoreboard, scorekeeper for home games, communicating to parents about changes to the schedule through SportsEngine, organizing a tailgate, and other general assistants as needed.
Uniform Management – Julie Bertram, Jennifer Phillips, & Angela Dierich
Work with Parent Reps to organize uniform distribution, collection, and inventory. Coordinate with coaches regarding jersey numbers available.
JV Jamboree – Ed Bertram
Manage the early season one day tournament hosted by SLUH or other school. Ensure registration is complete and food/bev is provided for the boys the day of, (If hosting, game day operations will be needed along with assisting coach on tournament set-up)
CASHBAH Party Host - Jason and Megan Browdy
Host the Lacrosse CASHBAH gift gathering party in your home and work with a committee to provide food and beverages for the club event
Senior Night Coordinator
Organize a recognition ceremony for seniors and their parents at the last Varsity home game. Ensure banners are ordered early season (taken on picture day), order flowers for senior moms, compile brief player resume of seniors, find a speaker for the ceremony (pre-game or half-time) to announce players/parents, and purchase senior gifts.
End of Season Banquet Chair - Sarah McGinn
We need someone to chair the end of season banquet for 2022 on June 4th as well as someone for June of 2023. Please consider managing this fun event that takes place after the Alumni game. Duties include working with Chris Muskopf on awards for players (Letters, pins, awards), planning a lunch after the game, work with Coaches and Board on program.
