Bicentennial Day of Service #SLUH200


St. Louis University High School–founded in 1818 as the first high school west of the Mississippi River–is celebrating its Bicentennial year in a spirit of gratitude. In thanks to the City of St. Louis for its support and partnership over two centuries, the entire school is undertaking a citywide Day of Service on Friday, October 20, 2017.

All freshmen and sophomores are serving at Forest Park, with the upperclassmen volunteering at a variety of organizations in the area, including Bayless Elementary School, Gateway Elementary School Garden, Gateway Greening Urban Farm, Holy Trinity Catholic Church and School, Lafayette Industries, Loyola Academy, Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Neighborhood Pride Community Garden, Peter and Paul Community Services, Shaw Elementary School Garden, Soulard School Garden, South Grand Senior Ministry Projects, Sr. Thea Bowman Catholic School, St. Cecilia School, St. Louis Foodbank, St. Teresa and St. Bridget Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Stores and The Ville Family Garden.

Following Mass on-campus in the morning, all Jr. Billikens and faculty/staff will serve citywide from 9am until noon.
