Freshman Direction Days
Class of 2024: August 17, 2020
This program has been adjusted due to COVID-19 restrictions and will take place on Monday, August 17th from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Students may wear casual dress code that day (t-shirts, shorts, and athletic shoes are acceptable).
Direction Days are the orientation program for SLUH Freshmen designed to welcome them and guide them through life at SLUH before their first day of any official activities. During these days, each freshman will:
- Receive his official SLUH lock and locker in freshman hall
- Meet Senior Advisors
- Spend several hours in small group team-building exercises with his peers on campus
- Sample some of the co-curricular activities
- Understand the technology requirements and expectations of SLUH
WHEN ARE DIRECTION DAYS?
The 2020-21 Direction Day will take place on Monday, August 17th from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
IS THIS DAY MANDATORY?
Yes. We want the entire class to receive the same welcoming experience and have the same level of support before they begin their first official day of class. Attendance is required for each freshman.
WILL LUNCH BE PROVIDED?
Students should be prepared to pack their own lunch. More details will be available later this summer.
WHAT PARTS WILL PARENTS BE ASKED TO ATTEND?
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, parents will not be asked to attend this event. Stay tuned for details regarding other parent information and gatherings as they are planned.
WHAT SHOULD MY SON WEAR?
Since much of the day will involve group activities outside, dress will be casual. Shorts, tennis shoes, t-shirts (provided they are appropriate and do not advertise alcohol, tobacco, or anything contrary to SLUH's values) are acceptable.
