Jesuit Global Activism Leadership Summit-2024/25

     As Jesuits have always been “called to the frontiers” to engage with the many, diverse peoples of our world, we invite you and your students to participate in the fourth annual Jesuit Global Activism Leadership Summit. The summit is open to students (male or female, 14-18 years old) and teachers from secondary Jesuit schools across the globe to gather with a common mission and vision to collaboratively explore solutions to the challenges and injustices we face as a global community. 

     The summit is free and will take place virtually this fall over the course of 4 days--October 5th, 12th, 19th, and 20th. Each session will start at 10:00 AM CST (St. Louis time) and last 2-3 hours depending on the workload each day. All activities will be conducted in English. The program will include:

-Opportunities to connect and share cultural perspectives and traditions with Jesuit school peers from North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

-Presentations by expert speakers on our Jesuit Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAP’s) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) that serve those ambitious goals to educate participants on how the two correlate.

-Group work within a mixed cohort of students, led by a student participant from last year’s summit, to produce an action plan that addresses the group’s chosen SDG in the communities of all group members.  

-Final group presentations of these action plans as a culminating activity.

-There is even a pilot program this year to offer interested schools to pair with other summit schools to actually put some of the group plans into action through an in-person visit to each other's communities. 

     To register your school’s students and teachers for the summit, please fill out this linked application by Sunday, September 29th, 2024. Schools are asked to register up to 5 students and at least 1 teacher on a single application (1 per school). Students should not register individually. Teachers will be asked to manage their groups, facilitate discussions and supervise students at the start and end of each day. Teachers may split up duties each week, but students should ideally commit to attending all sessions.
