2025 Kaleb King Grade School (Grade 3-5) Baseball Camp - Basic Skills

The Kaleb King Grade School Baseball Camp is a developmental program designed for improving fundamental skills of youth entering grades 3-5. The camp is held at the beautiful Sheridan Stadium on SLUH's campus and led by SLUH baseball coaches with the assistance of current SLUH baseball players. Camp attendees will be practicing the fundamentals covering five different categories: hitting, infield play, outfield play, pitching/throwing, and base running. We will teach practice routines for each area as well as hold some team building competitions implementing the skills we have developed.

About Head Coach Kaleb King
King was a three-year varsity starter at SLUH under coach Steve Nicollerat before attending Middle Tennessee State University, where he played four years of Division I baseball. In addition to his career as a player, King also brings a depth of coaching experience to his new role, including a three-year stint as assistant coach at SLUH. in 2024, Coach King led the Jr.Bills to the MCC title in his first year as the head coach.

I covenant not to make or bring any such claim against SLUH or any other Releasee, and forever release and discharge SLUH and all other Releasees from liability under such claims.

I shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SLUH and all other Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind, including attorney fees, and the costs of enforcing any right to indemnification under this Agreement. I understand, accept and assume those hazards and risks and waive all claims against SLUH and Releasees.

I understand that my medical insurance coverage is primary and any additional coverage, if any, provided by SLUH is specifically on an excess basis only.

I authorize and Camp staff to act for me in the event of an emergency and authorize the Camp staff to seek medical attention on behalf of my child according to their best judgment.

2025 Erwin Claggett Grade School Basketball Camp - Week 1

Join Coach Claggett's camp in his 14th year at the helm of SLUH's basketball program. Coach Claggett's 14-year tenure at SLUH has earned the Jr. Bills 2 consecutive district championships and consecutive appearances in the final four at the Missouri State Championships, along with a State Quarterfinal experience last year. Coach Claggett was also honored as the 2017 Metro Catholic Conference Coach of the Year.

A graduate of Saint Louis University (SLU), Claggett was an All-American player and finished as SLUH's all-time second-leading scorer. A 2-time SLU Hall of Fame inductee, he played in Europe before returning to coach high school basketball at Venice High School and McCluer High School, leading the Comets to 3 conference championships and earning 3 Conference Coach of the Year honors.

Coach Claggett's ability as a passionate communicator and teacher makes him a highly effective basketball coach. His experience as a player lends credibility to his knowledge of the game.

Camp counselors will include high school coaches, college players, and former SLUH graduates.

Campers will focus basic fundamentals with basic skills competitions throughout the week. Each camper will receive a reversible practice jersey and certificate.

Date and Time: June 16th-June 18th, 8am-1130am. Weather make up day June 20th.

Location: SLUH football field

Camp includes a snack each day, a bbq on the last day of camp, and a t-shirt.

Campers will need athletic shoes, athletic clothes, and their own water bottle.

Head Coach Andrew Toussaint guides the Lacrosse Camp at SLUH. He brings two dozen years of lacrosse experience. Coach Toussaint played at Georgetown Preparatory School in Maryland, and at St. Mary's College of Maryland, graduating with several school records, an All-American, three-time first-team all-league player, and was inducted in his alma mater's Athletic Hall of Fame.

He has coached at Georgetown Prep, St. John’s College High School, and for the DC Club Blue youth lacrosse club. He's been at SLUH for 7 seasons, and took the Jr. Bills to the State Championship game in the 2024 and 2018 seasons, and the semifinals in 2019, 2022, and 2023.

He and the counselors will instruct rising 3rd through 8th graders—at all skill levels—on the mechanics of stick skills, and on the facets of the game, and will provide competitions, including fastest shot, tournaments, and camp awards.

Requirements: Campers will need to bring water bottle, cleats, mouth guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, helmet, and complete stick. Campers in 2nd-4th grade are okay with only a stick. There is some available equipment for loan.

Open to all student athletes of all experience levels entering 6-9th grade.

The camp will be led by Coach Kyle Schaper, Coach Sean Ferguson, and SLUH players.

Kyle Schaper has played since 2008 and coached since 2020. As a K-5 PE teacher he knows how to break down skills step by step to develop student athletes. Coming from a military background Coach Schaper knows the value of brotherhood and emphasizes it within coaching. Coach Schaper has worked with all levels of experience from ages 5 to 20’s, brand new to the game and all-state student athletes. He believes rugby is an exciting, unique game that offers a ton of fun and unique experiences.

Sean Ferguson has been a part of the game of rugby for 10 years as both a player and coach. As a teacher at St. Louis University High School and a high school coach, he brings a strong understanding of both athletic development and character-building. His coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and respect—the core values of rugby. Whether working with beginners or experienced players, Coach Ferguson is committed to making the sport accessible, fun, and rewarding for all athletes.

This camp, open to all boys entering grade 6-9, is designed to build rugby skills and camaraderie. Rugby is a game of respect which will be at the forefront of all lessons taught in camp. Camp’s goal is to teach the basics of rugby where student athletes will be able to pick up a ball and begin to play just like soccer or basketball. There will not be live contact games or drills, but will teach contact using padded equipment. Mouth pieces are encouraged.

About Coach O’Connell

Coach O’Connell has been a SLUH faculty member since 2003. A graduate of De Smet Jesuit ’98 and SLU ’02 he was captain of the Spartans 1997 state championship team and a member of the 4-time Conference USA champions Billikens from 1998-2001. He began his coaching career as the Billiken Graduate Assistant during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. He joined the SLUH coaching staff under legendary coach Charlie Martel from 2004 – 2013. Before being named Coach Martel’s successor for the 2018 season, Coach O’Connell served 3 seasons for Kennedy Catholic and 1 season for Parkway North as their Varsity Coach. Coach recently led the Jr.Bills to the 2024 Class 6 State Championship. The Jr. Bills would win the game in PKs and claim the State Title.

2025 SLUH SWIM AND WATER POLO CAMP

open to incoming freshmen only, no cost, June 9-12, 3:30-5:15pm at Forest Park Community College Pool.

The pool is located in the basement of the PE building, located at 5600 Oakland Ave, which is at the corner of Macklind and Oakland.

This camp will feature 45 minutes of focused swim stroke technique work in all four strokes, followed by a 45 minute introduction to water polo fundamentals; no water polo experience is necessary, but being able to swim confidently the length of a pool is required.

Open to incoming 9th grade and current SLUH students at no cost.

Diving - Come learn the basics to the fun and challenging sport of diving! No prior diving experience necessary, but being able to swim unassisted is required.

Open to incoming freshmen and returning SLUH students, no cost, June 9-12, 3:00-4:15pm at Forest Park Community College Pool.

Coach Ott was a 2x Missouri state champion, a collegiate All-American in Freestyle and Greco-Roman, and a 3x academic All-Big-Ten selection at Northwestern University. He is the former head coach at SLUH and is the founder and head coach of Saint Louis Jesuit Wrestling Club.

Coach Conley was a 2x Missouri state placer who went on to compete for the University of Missouri and Missouri Baptist University. He is the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach and assistant athletic director at SLUH.

Open to wrestlers of all experience levels entering grades K-3.

Ninja Billiken Wrestling Camp - Grades K-3

This camp, open to all boys and girls entering grades K-3, is designed to help young wrestlers develop athletic skills and apply those skills to learn proper wrestling technique. Coach Ott and his staff prioritize character development and having fun in the learning process. Our goal is for participants to come away with increased body control and skills, as well as an understanding of the basics of wrestling.
