As synonymous with St. Louis University High as Ignatius, the name "Backer" lives on in perpetuity at SLUH thanks to the generosity of Anna F. Backer and her desire to honor her husband, George H. Backer, Class of 1869, after his death. Their gifts to the students of SLUH supported the young Jr. Bills in the 1920's - when Backer Memorial was constructed - and still do so today.

The Backer's Backers recurring gift program is created in that same spirit of a dedicated focus on generosity to SLUH through automatic, recurring giving.
