Interim Principal Announcement
February 6, 2026
Dear St. Louis U. High Community,
As you recall, SLUH recently announced that current Principal Fr. Matt Stewart, SJ ’98 will serve as our next school president, beginning July 1, 2026. Given the broad impact of the principal’s position, it is critical that we undertake a comprehensive search for Fr. Stewart’s replacement, one that creates the greatest opportunity to discern our evolving needs and to attract and evaluate the most promising pool of candidates possible.
After a collaborative process with school leadership and key stakeholders led by Fr. Stewart – and with the enthusiastic support of our Board of Trustees – we are pleased to announce Megan Menne will serve as our interim principal for the 2026-27 school year, beginning July 1.

Throughout Mrs. Menne’s distinguished tenure at SLUH, which began in 2010, she has taught biology and astrophysics, been recognized by the Class of 2019 with the Faculty Appreciation Award, and served as director of student activities. She transitioned to an administrative role in 2025 when she became Assistant Principal for Activities and Formation as the second lead female academic administrator in SLUH history (joining Mary Schenkenberg, principal from 2002-08). Mrs. Menne, who holds a master of education and bachelor of science degrees, is highly regarded as a leader of deep faith, intelligence and vision.
In naming Mrs. Menne as interim principal, we wish to thank Kevin Foy, M.B.A., Ed.D., Assistant Principal for Academics, and Brock Kesterson, Ed.D., Assistant Principal for Wellness and Discipline. Their veteran leadership sets a standard for college preparatory education and will provide invaluable support to Mrs. Menne and the faculty.
This transition timing is opportune as SLUH continues to operate from a position of tremendous strength and stability. We continue to see a surge in applications, improved AP and ACT performance, new state championships, expanded retreat programs and campus improvements, among other examples. Moreover, we were recently named to the AP School Honor Roll (Platinum distinction), recognized as a Cognia School of Distinction, and launched the two largest endowed programs in our school history (Conrads Program for Integrated Sciences and the Sciuto Institute for Teaching Excellence).
We look forward to keeping the SLUH community informed as the principal search is formally launched. Until then, please know of our prayers for you and your loved ones, and of our gratitude for your support of our Catholic, Jesuit mission at SLUH.
