Global Education Directors, Mr. Rob Chura and Ms. Maria-Paz Campos, formalize school partnerships in Egypt, Chile and India.
During his recent visit to Cairo, Mr. Chura, Director of Global Education, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Collège de la Sainte Famille. Mr. Chura’s goal is for Egyptian students to visit St. Louis for two weeks in May. SLUH students studying Arabic would then have the opportunity to study in Cairo.
“This will allow our students the opportunity for intensive language study as well as experience the culture there,” Mr. Chura said.
Ms. Campos, Asst. Director of Global Education, also formalized a partnership with San Ignacio El Bosque during her recent visit to Chile. Five San Ignacio El Bosque students, along with two Colombian students, will study at SLUH during the first quarter. SLUH students will then have an opportunity to participate in a three week immersion program in Chile for language study as well as a service project.
Additionally, a partnership has been forged with St. Lawrence High School in Kolkata, India. The partnership began with a virtual exchange and continued with the Global Summit in March. Mr. Chura hopes this relationship will continue to grow and eventually include a cultural exchange opportunity for students.
