In 1818, SLUH started in a small home on the St. Louis riverfront. Nearly 200 years later, on September 23, 2017, the school celebrated its humble beginnings with Saint Louis University on the newly renovated Arch grounds.
SLU hosted the event, which featured a Mass celebrated by St. Louis Archbishop Robert Carlson as presider and homilist, and Ronald Mercier, S.J., provincial of the Jesuits' Central and Southern Province, as principal concelebrant. Following Mass, more than 5,000 attendees enjoyed family-friendly activities and a special fireworks display.
The following photos were taken by Mrs. Kathy Chott, and the videos were produced by SLU.
