SLUH Earns AP Platinum Honor Roll Distinction
The College Board Advanced Placement Program named SLUH to the 2024 AP School Honor Roll, earning PLATINUM distinction, its second award since the program launched in 2023.
“Our recognition as an AP Honor Roll school is a testament to the discipline and dedication of our students, as well as the commitment to excellence of our faculty,” says Dr. Kevin Foy, MBA, EdD, Assistant Principal for Academics. “This distinction underscores the rigorous academic opportunities we provide, preparing our young men for success in college and beyond.”
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes commitment to academic excellence and emphasis on college readiness. To be recognized on the AP School Honor Roll in a given year, a school must meet each of the following criteria for students in their most recent graduating class:
- College Culture: Percent of the graduating cohort who took at least one AP exam.
- College Credit: Percent of the graduating cohort who scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam.
- College Optimization: Percent of the graduating cohort who took five or more AP exams. At least one was taken in 9th or 10th grade, spreading AP experiences across years rather than feeling disproportionate pressure in any single year.
The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction, with escalating performance at each level. SLUH demonstrated strong performance across all criteria, earning PLATINUM, AP’s highest distinction, with 86% of SLUH seniors taking at least one AP exam, 77% of seniors scoring a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam, and 43% of seniors taking five or more AP exams during their time at SLUH.
