Senior Brooklyn Hollander will take his talents to Springfield, Ohio next year to play Division III volleyball at Wittenberg University. Wittenberg is a smaller sized liberal arts college with a volleyball program that has struggled the past few years but is on the rise with new direction from head coach Nathan Matthews.

Since he was 8 years old, Hollander has been playing competitive volleyball at the club level. Currently, he plays on High Performance St. Louis (HPSTL), and is entering his second season on the state champion varsity volleyball team. Though Hollander’s success on the high school court is evident, he was recruited primarily during out of town tournaments for his club team.
“The recruitment process was just at my club tournaments where coaches would reach out to me. So after a game, I would have coaches come to me and we would just talk about the school,” said Hollander. “I've learned so much from both high school and club. Just the help I've gotten on how to reach out to colleges and then improving my overall performance. That experience is really going to come into play in college.”
For Hollander, Wittenberg felt most like home. What sparked his interest the most in the school was its size and determination to improve its volleyball program.
“Ultimately, I chose Wittenberg because the school is perfect,” said Hollander. “It's the perfect size that I want. And then they want the program to really take off and they want good and new players, so it just feels good to be wanted.”
Hollander plans on studying kinesiology and pre-med to become a physical therapist.
