Local sugar addict Preusser reviews Crumbl Cookies

There are few things in life that bring me more joy than a 17.5-by-5-inch pale pink box full of four scrumptious cookies. Crumbl Cookies is a treat in which I indulge on a weekly basis, partly because they rotate their flavors of cookies every seven days, and partly because I have little self-control.

Every Sunday, my heart leaps with joy when I receive the notification that Crumbl has posted on Instagram—the long-awaited list of the week’s lineup of cookies. With the inclusion of one of my all-time favorite cookies, the S’mores cookie, in this week’s lineup, I was inspired to review Crumbl’s long list of delicious desserts. Out of the nearly 40 different Crumbl flavors that I have enjoyed, here are my top five, accompanied by a brief description and review:

  1. Buttermilk Pancake (warm) — no other cookie even stands a chance in comparison to this heavenly masterpiece. With a thick, buttermilk base, a drizzle of syrup, and a dollop of delightful buttery buttercream, this cookie is quite literally the best ever.
  2. Brownie Sundae (warm) — one of my favorite collaborations in history (without taking into account the Taylor Swift-Lana Del Rey collab released today) is a warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, and this cookie brings me the same satisfaction. The Brownie Sundae, as you can imagine, is the delectable combination of a brownie base and a large mound of vanilla mousse, topped with a chocolate drizzle, colorful sprinkles, and a cherry.
  3. Mallow Sandwich ft. Oreo (chilled) — is basically an Oreo, but scaled to the size of my entire hand and a thousand times better. Instead of the puny chocolate crackers of a typical oreo, this dessert is made up of two full-sized chocolate cookies, plus a layer of thick, ice-cream-like vanilla buttercream in between. While this large of a cookie was difficult to eat, I will risk filling my entire car with crumbs any time just to get another bite of this.
  4. S’mores (warm) — the cookie my taste buds most recently encountered. While this is no revolutionary idea, Crumbl’s approach to the classic dessert in cookie form is unmatched. With a graham cracker base and warm chocolate chips, the real star of the show is the gooey marshmallow center. I might just have to buy a second one this week.
  5. Cookies and Cream Milkshake (chilled) — the definition of cookies and cream, with a cookie base filled with oreos, cookies and cream icing, and a mini oreo on top. It’s like an Oreo milkshake with the added fun of being a cookie.

If you happen to take my recommendation and visit Crumbl in the future, be sure to keep in mind the fact that I live in close proximity to the South County location. Bring me a cookie or two (or six).
