One World Club

Who We Are

We are a group of young men who share an interest and appreciation for languages and cultures. We are keen on experiencing cultural diversity and gaining awareness of national and international issues. We understand this world needs compassionate leaders, and we want to rise to this challenge.

What We Do

We promote, advocate and advance initiatives in collaboration with the Global Ed program and other clubs. Some of our events involve, among others, regular club meetings to learn about important topics, guest speaker events and welcoming activities for international students. Following are upcoming topics and activities:

What are human rights? Can you name some? Why are they important? We will take a look at history to learn how human rights originated. We will review the Universal Declaration of Human Rights created by the United Nations in 1948.

This year, we will center our attention on articles 3, and 6 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We will discuss how these rights manifest or should manifest themselves in our global community.

Second semester will be a time to look at our local community. In doing so, we will discuss how we can promote articles 3 and 6 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights not just locally, but worldwide.

During the second semester we will reach out to our St. Louis community. We will volunteer at different organizations in the city.
