the team, because without faith, you can't accomplish anything.
To those of you who raced on Saturday, you were there to compete, and
you did compete. You can't understand the bitter failure, knowing as
you ran that your hopes were slipping away, every goal you worked for
flaming out. There is little solace in not achieving your dreams,
especially those dreams which never were beyond your grasp, but reality
itself.
You know how good you are, and imagine how good you could've been if
for one race, the most important race you'd ever run, you could run
like you had always envisioned. But remember this: those who trained
with you, competed against you, watched you race your heart out, they
will always know the truth of your legacy, and wish they could be you.

Saturday, the Junior Billikens season came to a shocking
conclusion, taking 8th place at the State meet. It's frustrating to see
a great season, and careers for some runners, come to such an abrupt
end.
Coach Sothers, Coach Schmuck, and all your runners: Congratulations
on representing St. Louis well in the 4A race. Coach Lampe and the
runners @ Chaminade -- congratulations on your awesome achievement.
