Supporting Mental & Emotional Health
JED Foundation Partnership
SLUH is happy to partner with the JED Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes and protects the mental/emotional health of students along with strategies directed towards suicide prevention for teens and young adults in the U.S.
Phase 1: Survey
Spring 2024
The JED Foundation will work with SLUH to administer a school-wide JED High School Student Survey about student health and well-being. Our students will be asked to participate along with those from other high schools nationwide.
Survey responses will help improve understanding of how schools can support student mental health more effectively. All student responses will be kept anonymous and secure and will not be connected with any identifying information.
Phase 2: Strategic Planning & Implementation
fall 2024 - Fall 2025
Once data has been gathered and analyzed, strategic planning will begin in the fall of 2024 with our Steering Committee. The spring and fall of 2025 will provide the opportunity to advocate for resources in our community to better serve our students, families, faculty and staff. In addition, the implementation and addition of various programs, policies, training and curriculum modifications will become evident.
Phase 3: Sustainability & Post Evaluation
2026
The spring and fall of 2026 will introduce the final phase of the program, Sustainability and Post Evaluation. As we welcome 2027 – with our work and collaborative efforts with the JED Foundation complete – we look forward to having some necessary and meaningful programs in place for future Jr. Billikens.
